Well, for a first upload, it's pretty decent, but my advice would be to develop your own style rather than aping the styles of other, established artists.
It's....really generic. Is it a bad game? No, not by far. But did it deserve the front page? Not even. It's a good time waster, but there are just so many top down shooters exactly like this that the only difference is it's coat of paint, in this case, a sort of rough coat of paint.
This is perfect for burning about a half an hour of your time. It's a great game for it's length, a good example of a retro style platformer, unfortunately (to me, at least), it was a tad on the easy side, I was able to buy the minigun by the start of chapter two and blazed through the rest o the game with no problems.
It's a metroid-vania platformer inspired by Event Horizon, Dead Space, and System Shock 2. Not that that's a bad thing, however, it's rare to see a game like this pull it off that well in a 2-D setting.
Not much to knock about this game. Had perfect pacing, with a lot of tense moments early on as you scramble to build your defenses just so you can get ready to explore. Multiple ending were nice, too. About the only problems I had were the poor quality of the defense animations, which weren't as much of a problem because they could be skipped, and the lack of a mini-map, meaning when I was zoomed to an approaching horde, I often had trouble finding my base.
But, onto suggestions in case there is a sequel or remake:
1) Experience for survivors: Nothing incredibly complex, but in game, I was wishing that the people I sent out got better at what they were doing, and when notified that found survivors were "Pretty green" I wish they meant it.
2) Equipment for soldiers: Pretty basic here, just choose a loadout for soldiers, with laboratories researching more. I was itching for some of that "Exotic weaponry" a couple of the zombie killing groups had
3) More events: Yes, crop failures, sickness, and random bandit attacks were cool the first few times, but it was very repetitive, as long as you had defenses manned and preservation and pesticides researched, you were nigh untouchable from natural disaster

Don't worry it's a tribute, I'm going to make up my own style thanks.

If there's ever been a better way to waste time, this is it. The holy grail of five minutes spent having fun.
Aww... thanks :3

Aside from some sort of nifty particle effects for the asteroids, it's kinda bland. The low quality music doesn't help things along, either.

Once again you've shown just how small we are in comparison to the Universe....and how amazing it is.

Amazing
I just love this game and how over exaggerated it is. One of the few insanely hard platformers I've actually tried to finish based on content alone.
